Wholly Fed

Our current favorite all natural sweet treats

Dark Chocolate Date Bark

Skip those other Christmas cookies and try this all natural, no sugar added and super sweet date bark. We like it better than regular chocolate bark and it is nourishing and healthy too. It keeps best in the freezer, but it doesn’t last long in our house. It’s easy to make and kid and husband approved.

Peanut Butter Banana Muffins

Also made with all natural sweeteners and all real ingredients, these muffins are moist and sweet, provide protein, fruit, and whole sprouted grains for a complete breakfast or snack on the go. Kid and husband approved. It’s like a chocolate chip peanut butter banana bread in muffin form.

Chocolate Banana Ice Cream

Paul Ziegler’s chocolate banana ice cream is worth trying, especially if you have a great ice cream maker. Another dessert made with all natural and real ingredients with a taste and texture that beats store bought. Sorry for the bad photo-I didn’t snap one after we scooped, but had to share this before Christmas.

Some new kid friendly back-to-school recipes

Peanut Butter Protein Cookies

These are delicious substitutes for granola bars or protein bars in school lunches. They’re protein-rich, moist, great for lunchboxes, easy to make, and even gluten free.

Sourdough Discard Pancakes

This batter doesn’t take much longer to throw together than a store bought mix and they are so good. My kids love these on a Saturday morning after a long week at school.

Sourdough Hamburger Buns

These are the lightest and fluffiest sourdough hamburger buns I’ve made. They may not be wheat flour, but they’re light enough for burgers and as sandwich buns for school lunches.

A fun little weekend treat

Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls… These have a slightly sour taste, with a sweet cinnamon glaze and a scrumptious vanilla icing. They taste like the real thing, but better. Stay tuned for a more natural icing!

Some Fun Summer Recipes

Chicken and Pepper Fajitas

These can be baked in the oven or grilled on the outdoor grill. They are easy to prepare and the whole family loves them.

Pork Lettuce Wraps

These are a little messy, but taste really good. They are refreshing on a hot summer day.

Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets

These chicken nuggets are good by themselves, on a salad, or in a mini sandwich. Easy to make and they make great leftovers.

Summer Snack Ideas

Soft Serve Ice Cream

This ice cream is made with all natural sweeteners. It can be made in a blender or an ice cream maker. It has a different consistency than store bought, but the flavor is perfect!

Honey Granola

I always keep this on hand for yogurt and even for snacking. It is quick to make, slightly sweet and my kids prefer it over store bought.

Stove Top Popcorn

This is better than microwave popcorn and so much better for you. It pops quickly and the clean up isn’t hard. Cooked in coconut oil, then topped with what you like.

This is made with whole wheat einkorn flour or whole spelt flour and natural sweeteners. This is a family favorite that even the kids love.

Made with butternut squash, cauliflower, arugula, and pecans and chick peas, this is a hearty and warm salad that my husband and I enjoy. The kids… not so much.

This from scratch recipe is from shadygroveranch.net. We love the biscuit topping – it’s genius. The recipe also includes optional instructions for a pie crust.
